The Blue House Celebrates 10 Years
The Friends paid their respects to Günter Boll (1940-2012), who died after a long illness. He had conducted research on Jewish regional history and the genealogy of Jews in the Upper Rhine for more than 30 years.
A sculpture for the Blue House was produced by the wood sculptor and biologist Heike Endemann, and presented as a gift from the Leopold Model Foundation in New York. Jonathan Hollander and the “Battery Dance Company New York” performed at the unveiling, presenting dance sculptures in the rooms of the Blue House as well as an evening choreography program.
The Association developed an annual program with two other associations that also celebrated anniversaries. They share the goals of combating Holocaust denial and xenophobia and promoting friendly relations with the population of Oświęcim (Auschwitz) in Poland: “Learning for the Future – Association for the Preservation of the Children’s Barracks Auschwitz-Birkenau” and the “Circle of Friends Oświęcim.”
