PRESENTATION OF THE PROJECT IN A PRESS BRIEFING
Another topic covered was the central role of Breisach’s railway bridge in the deportation of Baden’s Jews to southern France 80 years earlier. Dr. Christiane Walesch-Schneller and Dr. Bernd Hainmüller presented their most recent findings, which were to be published on the website for the first time.
The subject of the 1940 deportation of Baden and Saar-Palatinate Jews is also part of the traveling exhibition being developed by the House of the Wannsee Conference memorial in Berlin and probably will be shown for the first time at the Museum of City History in Breisach . This will be supplemented by a contribution on Breisach history by historian Dr. Robert Neisen, in cooperation with the Blaue Haus team.
Two young members of the “Youth Remembers” project, Olivia Schneller and Aleksandra Rembecka, were available for interviews after the briefing.
